The vast majority of our staff are either NNEB (National Nursery Examination Board) or equivalent, or participating in the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Early Years and Childcare. We have a very high qualified staff ratio which far exceeds that of OFSTED requirements.

Fiona Cox is the nursery manager having originally joined as our Baby Room Leader and Deputy. Fiona has a Foundation Degree in Early Years Childcare, along with other certifications including Every Child’s a Talker, Montessori Pedagogy, Safeguarding, Policy Into Practice, is a Special Education Needs Coordinator, behavior Management Officer, Training Mentor and a fully trained First Aider.

Hazel Morson is our Deputy Manager and Preschool Room Leader. Hazel has experienced many roles in nurseries during more than 14 years in childcare. Hazel holds a BA Hons in Early Years Education and Childcare, along with Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and is a fully trained First Aider.

Jess Whelan is our Baby Room Deputy and brings a huge amount of knowledge and experience to our team. As well as holding a NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Jess is also trained in Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, Health and Social Care Level 2 and is a fully trained First Aider.

Jodie Ann Edmonds is our Toddler Room Deputy. Jodie has gained valuable experience working with Special Educational Needs and with Challenging Behaviour Scenarios, specific areas which she finds extremely rewarding. Jodie has an Early Childhood Education Studies BA Hons Degree and is also trained in Safeguarding, Speech and Language, Behaviour Management and also a fully trained First Aider.

Judith Davis is our chef and very popular with both the children and nursery team. Judith prepares all our fresh meals each day at the nursery based on our seasonal menus, providing some really enticing aromas each morning at the nursery. Judith is trained in Food Hygiene and is a fully trained First Aider.

Maesie-Jayne Spencer worked with us as part of her BTEC course and made a huge impression, so we were delighted when Maesie joined us full-time in July 2015.

In addition to holding a BTEC National Diploma in Childcare, Learning and Development Level 3, Maesie-Jayne is also a fully trained First Aider

Laura Polly has worked in the nursery since we opened, bringing many years of valuable experience. Laura holds a BTEC National Diploma Level 3 in Childcare, along with Pediatric First Aid, Behavior Management, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and is a fully trained First Aider.

Kayleigh Guest joined Monkey Puzzle in August 2015. Although this is her first role since gaining her Level 3 qualification, Kayleigh had already gained some excellent experience in Childcare via several placements.

In addition to holding a Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Kayleigh is also a fully trained First Aider.

Daniella McGreavy joined Monkey Puzzle in April 2017 as an apprentice and is working in the Toddler Room. Having previously worked as a photographer, Daniella brings creativity to our team. Daniella has been studying for her Level 2 in childcare which is due for completion in April 2018 and has also completed her First Aid and Safeguarding training whilst she has been with Monkey Puzzle

Daisy Clover joined Monkey Puzzle joined our team in February 2018 and is working in the Tweenies Room. Daisy has completed her BA Honours in Childhood Studies and so brings further valuable skills and knowledge to the team.

Hollie Simmonds is a valuable member of our Preschool Team, with plenty of positive childcare experience. Hollie is qualified to Level 3 in Early Years and has also received her Safeguarding and First Aid training.

Despite being a busy Mum, Liane Garside joined our Monkey Puzzle Team as an apprentice on April 2016. Liane quickly qualified to Level 2 in Early Years and has also been trained in safeguarding, first aid, parent partnerships and preparing for school.

Career opportunities

Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries are committed to providing great career opportunities for its entire staff. We are very keen to ensure the majority of staff participate in training at all levels. Our policy is always to recruit and/or promote internally if at all possible.
