Your child will learn through the magic of play, supported by trained staff who have a passion for providing memorable learning experiences with expertise in the specific areas of building children’s communication and language, supporting physical development, and crucial emotional development too. We extend these prime areas with activities and an environment that promotes exploration in literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design. Our curriculum is not confined to four walls and you’ll find learning lives in every space including the outdoors, and the world around us.
Staff carefully devote their time actively caring for and playing with the children and supporting the whole group routine with welcoming the children, circle times, nappy changing and toilet training, meal times, and saying farewell at the end of nursery day. During this time they are constantly carrying out observations spotting those developmental milestones and subtle changes in a child’s interests ready to record and share in your child’s Learning Journey.
Our Stratford-upon-Avon Day Nursery has a dedicated Educational Co-ordinator to help each room leader to devise their curriculum plans and records according to the needs of the children attending. Long, medium and short term plans are all displayed in each of the rooms along with details of all our topics which will be covered in the coming months.
We keep detailed records on the development of all children attending Nursery and these are available to be viewed and discussed at any time by parents. Parent consultations can be arranged with your child’s key person at a time to suit. We always encourage parents to add details of their child’s experiences and progress from outside nursery to help keep these development records accurate.
Parent’s evenings are held at least once a year and are an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s progress on a formal one to one basis.
In addition to the above we also offer extra curriculum activities to further enhance the children’s experiences. These vary from learning French and Music to taking part in Dance and Soccer classes. Many of these programmes are provided at no extra cost.
